Six years ago, Phoenix Digital was born. We had a passion for digital and a desire to make life easier for our clients. Our goal was to make bespoke, easy to use websites that looked gorgeous and delivered results.
Since then, we’ve been refining who we are and what we’re good at. Guess what? It’s still the same. Changing complex issues into simple solutions.
Over the years our team has grown from 2 to 6 and we’re so grateful to work with some true talent. Thank you to the team for continuing to choose us.
The current line up is: Davinia and Chris who founded the business in 2016. Today we've got Russ on front end design and Ryan on business development. Ben on design and AJ on digital. We also have the perfect partners in video production, app development, user research and photography. The real A-team!
From our early days we’ve been lucky enough to work with some cracking clients who are still with us today. Thank you to Argos, Russell & Russell Solicitors, Diane Harrison Designs and SkillSoft for your continued support. When we work with an open dialogue and innovate together, everyone wins.
Thank you also to our friends The EEB, Indepth Managed Solutions and LWA Associates who have been with us for several years.
And, we're excited to add some fantastic new clients to the gang, SEESAW co-working space, Sheffield FC, England Squash and Office Insight.
So, what are some of our favourite moments as we approached our sixth birthday?
Projects we can't stop smiling about
SEESAW co-working space
The gang at SEESAW have created a new flexible workspace in the creative heart of Manchester. Based in a gorgeous Grade II-listed building, this project was right (almost literally) up our street.
We created a bespoke website that worked alongside their existing IT systems. This enabled members to self-manage bookings, working hours and meeting rooms. We designed a responsive site and applied subtle animation to enhance certain areas and even developed a downloadable app that integrates with the door management software to allow members access to the building.
This project was meaningful to us for a few reasons:
- We were emotionally invested. This project solves an issue borne out of the pandemic - an increase in mental health issues as a result of isolation.
- Creating a flexible space for solopreneurs and small businesses is exactly the kind of inclusivity we’re about at Phoenix.
- We’re looking forward to seeing opportunities for the commercial property market. Spaces like this will generate income for unused spaces post pandemic.
- Championing creative and entrepreneurial communities has been highly rewarding.
Ps, SEESAW has everything you could want in a co-working space and you should absolutely go and check them out.
Sheffield FC
Founded in 1857, Sheffield FC is the World’s First Football Club, which we think is rather cool.
Sheffield FC receives little funding from the sporting authorities so its income has to come via ticket and merch sales. But slow-loading pages, difficult navigation and a poor user experience meant their website was letting the side down.
We developed a digital marketing campaign to generate awareness and increase sales and were delighted to be finalists in the UK Ecommerce awards for the work we did. But, what pleased us most was seeing the results. After 3 months we more than doubled the Club's online revenue. Back of the net!
New Faces and Spaces
Having worked with British Cycling and Sheffield FC, we’ve loved broadening our experience in the sport sector with a UX and User Research project with England Squash.
We’re also excited to welcome Office Insight on board. Office Insight is an office design and fit-out company based in Altrincham with an awesome client roster. We’ve taken over maintenance of their Laravel site and will be introducing some functional changes to improve their user experience.
In January we moved offices. We’ve stayed in MediaCity but are now enjoying the view from the 10th floor in the Blue tower. We’re also opposite a popular coffee shop which pleases the team no-end. If you’ve not been to see our new home, come over for a cuppa (or a Costa).
And that’s it folks, thank you all for another fun-filled year. If all that makes you want to join our gang, get in touch to find out how we can make your digital dreams a reality.
