Background:
The British Wheel of Yoga is the UK’s leading yoga membership organisation, supporting a nationwide community of teachers, students and practitioners through training, events, resources, news and a comprehensive class search facility.
As a membership-led organisation, its digital platform plays a central role in delivering value to users, providing access to essential information, professional development opportunities and community engagement.
Recognising the importance of continually evolving the platform to meet member expectations, The British Wheel of Yoga appointed Phoenix Digital to support the next phase of its long-term digital strategy.
Challenge:
The British Wheel of Yoga required a partner capable of supporting and enhancing a well-established digital platform used by members across the UK. At the time of appointment, the member portal was experiencing bugs, slow loading speeds and performance issues that were affecting usability and contributing to a decline in membership engagement.
The organisation wanted to improve the user experience and user journey throughout the member portal, ensuring members could more easily access training, events, resources and community information. Alongside improvements to the member experience, there was a need to review functionality, introduce new features and support the ongoing growth of the organisation.
With no budget available for a complete rebuild, the challenge was to improve the underlying technical infrastructure and enhance key areas of functionality while working within the existing platform.
Solution:
Phoenix Digital began a programme of ongoing enhancements focused on improving the member portal experience, refining user journeys and introducing functionality designed around the needs of The British Wheel of Yoga community.
Working closely with the organisation's leadership team, Phoenix Digital continues to deliver UX improvements, technical enhancements and strategic recommendations that support both current and future members. The wider project also includes improvements to SEO and a redesign of public-facing areas of the website to strengthen visibility, accessibility and engagement.
